FAQ

Our kid-friendly English riding lesson program provides once weekly lessons in multi-week semesters ~  Below you will find some of the frequently asked questions about our program and their answers.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes. At the current time our line-up of horses and ponies have maximum weight limits as follows:

Summer -  120 lbs

Wonder -   160 lbs

Tanner -    160 lbs

Pastel -  180 lbs

Sammie - 200 lbs

Do you have trial lessons?

Yes.  We do offer a trial lesson prior to signing up for a semester.  The cost for a trial lesson is $35.00 for one half hour, cash or check. However, delaying registration by taking a trial lesson can mean alot less availability in lesson days and times.

Does my child need special equipment or attire?

No.  Your child may dress comfortably in stretch pants or jeans, or if they wish they may go that extra mile and purchase jodphurs or other English riding attire.  Low-heeled boots are preferable, but many children simply come to their lesson in sneakers.  Gloves with some type of grip surface on the palm are recommended for Fall lessons.  We do have helmets here for loan or can direct you to a local tack store to purchase one.  Helmets are required for safety reasons.

My child is a beginner, should I worry about safety?

All students begin on leadline, with the instructor leading the lesson pony or horse with a leadrope.  We typically use older ponies and horses in our program because they have a "been there, done that" attitude and have had years of training.  Our ponies and horses go through a trial period and must pass several tests that determine their suitability and safety for a children's lesson program.

What is your cancellation policy?

We allow one cancellation per semester with makeup lesson in Week 10.  If your child is a no show (no cancellation notice from parent) for any lesson, they will not be eligible for the makeup lesson in Week 10, even if they gave notice for a different missed lesson. If a student has 3 no shows, the rest of their lesson package will be forfeited without a refund.

  • Text or call Linda Moser's celI  phone 215-292-4728 (Weekday lessons before 2:30 pm) and (Weekend lessons the day prior up until 6 pm). You must receive a verbal or text confirmation in order to receive a makeup lesson during Week 10, and have zero no-shows.  DO NOT EMAIL.

  • When offered a credit due to lesson/s missed due to prolonged illness, medical emergency, or other serious issue cleared by Linda Moser, it must be applied to the next semester.

  • If you book a makeup lesson day & time, then cancel it or don't show up, it cannot be made up.

  • If a student has perfect attendance, they receive a FREE lesson in Week 10!

  • Horse Camp days and weeks are paid in advance.  There are no refunds or credits if your child is unable to attend, except for a medical emergency verified by a Doctor's note.

It's raining outside, does my child have a lesson?

Linda Moser will contact you by phone or text as soon as possible, at least one hour prior to lesson time.  If it begins raining once you are on route or are already at the farm, your child will have an indoor lesson on horse care.  If you haven't heard from her and are unsure about whether your child's lesson has been cancelled, please call or text Linda's cell to inquire.  PLEASE D0 NOT EMAIL

I forgot my child's lesson and we will be unable to attend or will be very late, what happens now?

Call Linda Moser 215-292-4728 and let her know you are running late or will be unable to attend.  This is especially important if you are the last lesson of the day. Because timely notice wasn't given, a makeup lesson will not be offered.

If you arrive later than your scheduled lesson time, your child will be allowed to take the lesson, but it will only be for the amount of time you have left in the 30 minutes. That is, if you are ten minutes late, your lesson will only be 20 minutes to not inconvenience other students, parents, and the instructor.
